how does ur friend work though???
does he have a valid visa like a Green Card or something...
coz am sure u couldn't have gotten him a H1 visa as u urself are on H1

1. I got my H1B extended while I am here in US. After going back to India, are there any issues in getting the visa revalidated, since an immigration petition has been filed on my behalf?
--This should not be a problem, since the H1-B is a dual-intent visa

2. Is H1-B extension based on I-140 possible when not in US?
--Yes. Moreover, if you are in India for a year or more, your 6-year clock starts again.

I need to take an apppointment for myself and my wife in May. Unfortunatly few days back I found a mistake in my wife's password and it will take 21 days to get it corrected. I doubt if she can get the passport on time to schedule an appointment for May 2nd week. However I am sure to get wife's new passport by May 2nd week. So I was thinking of taking an appointment using her old PP number and editing the info later.

Will I be able to edit the PP number later online...?? Or not. greatly apprecite if you could provide some info on this...

Hi
It's been 9 years since I filed for my Eb3. July 2002. Jan 2002 is currently being processed. Do not see it coming to July 2002 .. based on the trends so far. (may take 2 years or more for all I know)

When I filed for my EB3 .. i worked in as a support engineer.
Am currently a manager (not support but Web Projects). SO my previous job and current one do not have a huge overlap.


Questions for th gurus.
1. Do you think I should apply for EB2
2. If yes .. how much time will it take for me to get the GC? (quicker than my 2 years to indefinite for EB3)
3. Can I get my July 2002 priority date for my EB2.
4. Am currently on eAD. So is my wife. Will applying in EB2 affect my EAD?

Gurus,

I work for company X and in my 9th year H1-B visa. X has filed for my Eb-3 labor and I-140 and I am currently AOS (July 07 filer) on my I-485. X recently extended my H1 through Oct 2012.

I have an offer from company Y. Company Y is asking me if I want H1 extension or H1 transfer? What should I answer them. Which one ensures that I have a 3 year extension. Please advise ASAP.

You should tell them to file a H1 Change of Employer petition based on your approved I-140. Let them know they need to file a LCA requesting a 3 yr term and get the LCA approval and then file form I-129 requesting for a 3 yr H1.

what amount lawyer is asking?

Hi,
I am trying to renew my EAD/AP myself and wanted to check if I will be getting the EAD card and AP documents by mail to my address.

I am avoiding the lawyer, as he's charging unreasonable amount.

Question:
When self-filing, would I be getting the EAD/AP documents at my home address???

I don't think that's possible. USCIS wants a physical address where you stay and will not deliver mail to PO box. In fact there is no forwarding of documents sent by USCIS too. They are all returned to USCIS.
This issue I think originates from the fact that USCIS wants to know where all aliens are physically staying.
I wanted to have a PO box to avoid any issues with mail theft and my lawyer said its not possible.
Anything different coming from your lawyer would be welcome.

Lawyer also has given whatever your lawyer said.
However, I know of few cases where people received green cards at their po boxes. If you call up custmer service, they will be happy to change the I-485 addresses to po box addresses.

I got laid off recently.

Now got job with 2 companies. 1 small and 1 big. 3 questions:
(1) Should I select based on my salary? Big company offers more salary.
(2) I have to now start Greencard again. So should I choose big company or small ? Both said they will consider sponsoring if performance is good.
(3) If I transfer H1B Is Big company likely to get RFE or small?

Go with consulting company.They will cooperate for your green card filing in EB-2. Any full time job never gaurantee green card.
