I just got my wife's h4 approval letter today but the I-94 does not have any validity period on it, its blank?? Moreover, We received two more i539 approval notices sames as my wifes without any validity period under my wife's name (Applicant)... beneficiary were for two kids age 9,11 totally different last names/Nationality :confused: Are the CSC processing people smoking something:eek:

You can work upto 240 days after your H1 expiry date while your H1B is pending. To continue working from 241st day, you would need EAD otherwise stop working until the decision is made on H1B.

I am confused stucklabor. I thought that labor decided ur job qualifications etc. I mean when i applied for my I-140 (i did not file concurrently btw). It also does include the foreigner's resume to a certain degree, but in general, the foreign worker's qualifications only get examined at I140. So a labor cert could be filed that is very tailored so that the chances of an American being qualified for the job is 0.01%. Then the foreign worker has to prove that he/she is qualified for the job. I140 also is the stage where USCIS also satisfies itself that the job is a standard job, not a made up job that will exclude most Americans. So all this happens at the 140 stage. Meanwhile, someone who wants to file a 485 can do it concurrently and get EAD and AP. They can even file a second labor cert at their own time and do things the right way. So the possibilities of fraud exist. USCIS has to balance quick processing vs diligent processing.
So anyway, read the report. The report doesn't say anything about mismanagement or corruption at USCIS.

Bank denied a consumer loan ,after approval due to immigration status specifically they said no loan unless you are a citizen. i am a permanent resident , leaving in the US for over 15 years. Applying for naturalization this year. Also the same bank had approved a consumer loan 2 years ago and now they say "oh we made a mistake then". Case or no case? I think I have been discriminated against.

I received an RFE on my H1-B application this year with the following questions. My H1-B sponsorer is currently discussing with the attorneys to better handle this situation. I would appreciate if someone can respond me how to handle this scenario properly.
Following are the context from the RFE document.

You can travel with valid visa and receipt notice of pending petition. If you receive approval while in India your company can send it to you and both you and your wife can get new H1 and H4 stamp

Guys, today I got our permanent residence visa from Canadian consular in LA that I almost had applied three years ago.
The visa is valid until June 9, 2007 and I really can not get my job done here in US until then. It is just too close. Even kinds will be in school by then.
Any one knows that if I can apply for an extension or not? I really don�t want to let it go since we spent so much money for it.
Any help is appreciated.

I took Infopass to enquire about my name check. I even showed the print out paper that says about the 180 day rule after initiating the name check process.
My name check is initiated in OCT 2007 still pending stuck in name check. My pd is current my processing days rule is applicable. My RD is July 2 nd 2007 at Texas.
The office was repeatedly saying that FBI has given them FEB 2009 as time limit on clearing the Name check. The officer doesn't care about the Aytes 180 day rule.
The officer told they are sticking with the FBI Time Frame and not with the 180 day rule b'cause they need to follow the FIFO for the already pending cases on Name check for years ... say for 3 yrs.

Madame Pelosi of the House set the first 100-hour legislative agenda and the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid presented on the Senate floor ten legislative bills as top priority for the first few months of the Senate.
However, immersed in the party politics, the Congress left the Hill yesterday, Saturday, for a week long break without achieving a lot because of the gridlock it had faced in the Congress. Samo, Samo Washington politics involving the Republicans and Democrats. It practically means that the Congress wll not resume the active legislative activities until March 2007.
S. 9, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill, adopted by the Senate floor, is in the Judiciary Committee of the Senate. The newly elected Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Sen. Leahy, reportedly set the CIR as one of the top agenda of the Judiciary Committee for March 2007 and the Democratic leaders reportedly determined to pass the CIR by April 2007 and quickly send it over to the House for its prompt action. How beautiful the agenda of the new Congress.
We want to watch carefully how closely the leaders of the House and Senate will follow through the agenda. In a way, from the perspectives of this immigration legislation agenda, we are relieved that the Congress was over with the most serious road block to the Congress, to wit, rebuke of Bush's resurge in Iraq.

Has anyone claimed unemployment benefits in EAD in TX state after being laid off? Can you please tell whats the procedure. I do not want to get into the debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state? I just need to know the procedure. Thanks.

If your documents are in order then there is really no need to worry. The employer memo you are talking about is about employer - employee relationship. If a worker on H1 visa is working at a client site where his / her employer do not directly control the day to day activity then that person will be denied H1.
In plain terms if you are on staff augmentation project and report to a client manager who controls your day to day assignment and your H1 employer only runs your payroll then there will be issues when you go for stamping with a possibility of your visa getting denied.
