Hi,
Can anyone share their expert views on this scenario.
Say, I have approved I-140 (current PD) from employer A (never worked with). Work with employer B in a different. Now if employer A applies for I-485 and after it is pending for 6 months, Can I invoke AC21 to continue the GC process while still with employer B ?
Also is it possible to have 2 separate I-485 filed from different employers.
I have heard the above is possible. But, I am curious as to how AC21 is interpreted. Isn't AC21 essentially an instrument to change jobs without hampering the GC process. In this case since one is not 'really switching jobs' how will this be treated or possible ?

I was absolutely pissed off with the "local" ppl that got greedy and dragged the whole economy with them. Seeing that there are ppl like you (one of us) who are pretty much the same, i am seething with rage. Because of idiots like you, people with a pristine credit history of more than ten years and some saved money cant buy a decent house in the bay area (and elsewhere) and have to see their hard-earned money go down the drain in 401k and stocks.....I wish ppl like you rot in foreclosure hell and no one ever lends credit you, ever again!!!

in 1970s, America opened up green cards to doctors, engineers and chartered accountants from India. A lot of doctors migrated that time and after a while there was heavy resistance from local people but govt cannot stop people from coming, so they implemented harsh rules to appease locals. One such rule was, even if you are a professional - you cannot take a job offer without going through the employment exchange. And in the employment exchange the job they give does not necessarily be the job that you can do. This discouraged new people and many people went back though they had green cards because they did not want to ruin their careers. Everything was good till you land here and no one told u about this situation. People never realised it till it hit them hard and as usual our community is scared to rise and no unity and no one speaks the truth, everyone just painting a rosy picture that they are doing great.
So, I would only say "Don't look at the result", just keep doing the effort. Try to build trust among the community. In fact you will be surprised to see that it is easier talking to the govt to help you rather than talking to the many unmotivated people who want benefit but are not motivated to do something about it. Keep those people in mind and do somehing to change their minds and set an example.

USCIS and DOS should respond to their irresponsible and negligent behavior. They are going to do that to Federal Courts for sure because of the Law Suit. I would want them to answer to Congress because they wasted law abiding tax payers money.
Remember this site name is called 'IMMIGRATION VOICE'. Please do not stop the people who are sending flowers. This will get media attention. This will not force USCIS to accept applications but it will give a chance to Congress to become a more vigilant watchdog of USCIS. As long as immigration is in Congress agenda, atleast all the numbers will be used rather than get wasted from now on. I am pretty sure and confident that Oct 2007 bulletin will move forward and high demand countries will be given more than 7% rather than wasting the numbers.
Before I tell this My PD Feb 2003. What is wrong if a person who has a PD 2007 would DREAM of applying for 485??. I do not support retrogression, even though I am the victim of it. I do not want everyone to be in line like me. Please be progressive in your thinking so that future immigrants who play by book does not get in to waiting line like us.

We are planning to make a trip to Hyderabad, India along with my wife and my little baby boy. After reading all of your experiences, I am not sure which one should I opt for. We have an expired Visa on passport, planning to Use AP. As we are travelling first time with the little baby boy, I am looking for some hassle free flying. I recently traveled to Chennai. My H1b visa was expired in my passport and have an approved AP. I traveled through AA (Frankfurt) --> Gulf Airways (Bahrain) --> Madras and ultimately to Tirupati by Car, While going to India no one cared to ask for any documents not even in Frankfurt. By the way if you don't know this, you don't need a TV for Germany if you have AP. While coming back (I just came 2 weeks back), the officer at the Immigration counter looked at my passport and asked me how can i travel to US with an expired US Visa. I didn't give him my AP with my passport coz I was lazy to take AP from my bag. Finally I showed him my AP and he let me in. Now all the officers in India know about AP. They wont be surprised looking at the AP. In Bahrain I had a lay over of about 13 hours. Gulf Air gave me hotel accommodation. At the Bahrain immigration counter, the officer flipped 2-3 pages in my passport and didn't even care to look at my visa/AP. In Frankfurt, while boarding the AA flight to Dallas, the lady at the AA counter verified all my documents even my office badge. If possible carry your office badge/ID card with you. If you don't have one it should be OK because you are not required to carry and you can always tell them that you are not carrying. Since I showed her my AP, she took all my documents including my badge to her supervisor for the approval and finally gave me the boarding pass. In DFW the immigration was like a piece of cake. I was the second person in the queue. CBP officer after taking my finger prints took me to an officer (Secondary Inspection). The officer at the Sec inspection verified all my documents in his system and asked me to show my EAD. After checking my EAD, he said its not mandatory to carry EAD but safe. The whole process took less than 15 minutes. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Everything coming out of USCIS is a "I-797 Notice of Approval" :) and AP is no exception.
I am far from getting one myself but have seen colleague's approvals - this is printed on the same form like the H1 approval. Whether you subsequently need a stamp on the passport I don't know.

Lets say DOS revises bulletin on july 2, does that mean applications recieved on july 2 are accepted and all applications recieved after 2 will be rejected or will USCIS reject all applications recieved on july 2 also.
I don't think any one knows the answer at this point. But I think it is better to mail applications until you see the bulletin (and dates go back). Nothing to loose except the courier fee. If USCIS want to return the applications so be it, at least you have a chance just in case they accept some (to some date).

On Friday, I got SMS from USCIS that my case is updated and I should check status online. I checked my email. I was happy :) to see an email from USCIS and opened it excitedly with butterfly in stomach. Well it said..

I had bought a house 2 years back thinking that i will sell it after couple of years and make money. I know many people might have done that. I didnt knwo that having a house will become a burden for me wrt moving to a different place in search of a job. I do see jobs in cities outside my state and was thinking of applying for those jobs. My problem is that if i sell my house, i will have to pay from my own pocket.
Having a house in this market has become a pain as it has made me immobile with respect to good job offers.

In above case,
1. talk with your mortgage lender, see if they are willing to lower your monthly mortgage (e.g. by spreading it for 40 years instead of traditional 30 yr. loan)
2. Search for reputed Pro. mgmt. comp in your area, talk with them and see what are your chances of ending up a tenant.
3. I would suggest you to think twice before going for foreclosure as previous poster suggested.
4. If you decide to go for foreclosure, make sure you landup in a job before you go for the proceedings.
5. There are different types of foreclosures, research on which one will be less impact to you.
