The point was about abusing the system to get ahead in the line. In that way labor sub shares similarity with PD porting. If a person who landed yesterday fits the job profile and the law allowed it , then what's wrong.
On the other hand if those labor are sold for a price then it is serious problem. And thats why Lab Sub was eleminated. Now thats what is going to happen (and happening) in PD porting case.

I agree with immi2006. We set ourselves apart by the Flower campaign indicating that we are law abiding and peaceful.
If some one can come up with a format which shows the tax dollars we have paid so far and the social security we have contributed and we can extrapolate it to encompass the total estimated number of EB immigrants. That would be a sizable number and will wake everyone up. If we distribute this to all the Senators/Congressmen and media it could have a huge impact.
Maybe all IV members can send the two figures:
Lifetime tax paid- One figure
Contribution to SS- One figure
We can put this in a presentable format with a write up and publish it. More ideas and thoughts please.

Now the member who got 2 months off, can either donate two months bill amount or one month (if he choose to retain one month off) to forum.;)

I have been pretty impressed with both call quality & customer service for ALLVOI. But I have not used Vonage, so cannot compare the two.
I went from spending $130-140 a month on India calls + phone line to $ 14.99. It couldn't get any better :)

Yes, it is that simple. If you just walk away from your home, bank can only touch your home and credit history. They can not go after your automobile\gold\savings\other property....anything. You are not missing anything. That is why we are seeing so many people around us just walking away from their homes. Thank God I rent but if my property's value go down 200 k in 2 years, heck I would walk away with a smile on my face. No strings attached.
Walking away would have been difficuly had you put 20% down, i.e. involving your hard earned money in the deal. In that case you would have waited to see the market and hoped that it would revive. If put 0% down and bank has given you 100% loan, then it is the bank who has taken all the risk. You have practially no risk in that deal. Just like cloth....return it to the bank. Hey....you don't have to even clean it up...like you do in the case of apartment move. ;-)

i wanted to share that i have recd by email confirmation regarding the GC production from USCIS (Aug 18).
I was, in fact, waiting for my fingerprinting notice - since my last one was couple of years old. My lawyer had written to USCIS to review the case and requested to send us a FP notice.
But what i got was GC production email for both me and my wife. My journey on H1b that started on Nov 99 has finally ended!!!:)

Massive IV campaign for Administrative fixes
Dear Members,
Immigration Voice is starting a massive campaign to get administrative relief for our community. We have had several fruitful meeting with the administration in 2007, some of these meetings were scheduled in September, November and then in December. In these meetings, we were able to convince the administration about the implication and hardship due to current broken system. Since Congress has not been able to address our issues in 2006-07, we were successful in creating a case for administrative fixes that would give much needed interim relief to EB community. These meetings helped us start a conversation on possible administrative fixes like 3 year EAD-AP, clearly defining “same or similar” if AC-21 is invoked, and we are hearing favorable feedback.
Due to lack of action on legislative front our community’s patience is running out and we want some relief urgently to get out of probationary status. We are thus starting this nationwide campaign that will help our advocacy efforts and get administration to act quickly. There are several components to this campaign.
1) Support from lawmaker offices: We urge all our members to meet their lawmaker offices and get them to write to The President in support of administrative fixes and urging for an immediate administrative relief. The template of the letter is attached. Letters from lawmaker offices to administration get far more attention as compared to anybody else writing the same letter. The template of the letter is posted below. Please request lawmakers to give you a copy of the letter or lawmakers could copy IV on their letter to The President. Also, does anyone remember where the I-485 was mailed? NSC or TSC? From what I remember it was based on what state you lived in when I-485 was filed.

Yes, it was based on the State you lived. One other thing, you may want to check with Customer Service, since when are you have been actually considered a PR. If they have considered you as a PR since 2008, it is good for you, you will be able to apply for Citizenship sooner

In I-485, when we enter I-94 information, I am not sure which date to use in the valid field.
The date on my white EAD card expired already. I have a new I-797 which is valid until 2010. My guess is I should enter this date. Can any one please confirm?

IV has just now got a green light from our lobbyists. We need to start calling now.
Someone please consolidate all information and create a campaign for this. Now is the time to follow up with anybody on the full committee with whom we have previously met or been in contact. Don�t call people who are already cosponsors. Only select people in the committee that are not co-sponsors. Make sure to say that you are a member of immigration voice so that it complements our lobbying efforts.
Please pool your energies and create a list of people to call, phone numbers and what to say. Any moderator will add in the first post of this thread.
Please keep posting your feedback on the thread when you have called. Once the campaign details are posted, post them on other websites too.

I've been current since July, 2010 and got RFE on Sept 10, 2010. I don't have letter with me as yet to know about RFE.
Before REF, I waited for few weeks then tried followings:
1) Took infopass : Officer sent email to expedite.
2) Wrote to Senator: got reply they would get reply in 60-90 days
3) Sent an email via attorney to TSC: got automated response.
Then I got RFE after about 2-3 weeks of these attempts.
Any one received any RFE recently on been current on the month of Sep. please share iit. I got my status update with RFE :(
