Letting your bank forclose on you or filing for bankruptcy is not a decision you take lightly asking people on the forum for advice. Your credit score can go down by as much as 300 points affecting you financially over the next few years which you perhaps have not really thought about. Just because you have existing loans (like credit cards) on a low rate does not mean they are 'locked'. Banks can hike the rates periodically based on your current score often to as high as 32 %. This is not pennies but can be hundreds of dollars in interest. Ever got harsh calls from collectors ? Ever got evicted from your place of residence ? Ever got denied when you try to rent ? Try living only on cash for a few weeks and see how it feels without credit. I have not gone through any of those thankfully but have seen and heard horror stories. Consult a professional or do research on your own before making a decision.

Guys do not feed the freeloaders by telling anything you are reading in the donor forum. Let these people help themselves by signing up for recurring contributions if they want helpful nformation about their EB2 PD movemement. We are still not meeting of our advocacy day amount. It is all because most people want free lunches. This needs to stop. The 200 people going to DC tomorrow are going to speak for you and me for yours and mine greencard. Does one need to be physically present in US in order to file I-485 application? I had already booked my travel to India on May 25th before I came to know that the my Priority Dates had become current. Will I need to be in US till I get the filing receipt? I was curious on how would UCSIS know that I'm out of country on the day of filing?

At the time of July Fiasco as per USCIS's own notification total more than 250000 EB based 485 were filed and more than 350000 family based 485 were filed.I am quoting this based on memory so it may be possible that this quot is not 11% accurate may have some variation at that time but it is not completely wrong.

Both me and my wife are here on H1-B visas. I am filing 485 on my own without a lawyer. My wife is going to be my dependent. I have 2 questions:
Do we both need to fill out I-485s or should I attach a copy of my I-485 alongwith my wife's documents?

I am not supporting any fraud, but what I said is, if you find workplace discrimination and contact a career guide, they ask you to find another job. Most sincere career guides will not support lawsuits or retaliation against employer unless you are not in a position to find other work. Even read career sites for women and advice, even in cases of sexual harrassment, they ask the victim to move on as a sensible thing to do, because in the end the company will somehow make the victim lose her job. There have been 1000s of USC Vs USC cases. I am not supporting any fraud but what I am saying is retaliation leaves bad taste in the mouth and world is a small place. For larger good of your rest of career best thing to do is move on.

Your arguments seem almost convincing. I will have to agree with you that it might be best for the OP's career to just move on to another job and ignore all the gross violations at his work place. Wouldn't that be selfish though? Who is going to set things right, if everyone cares about his/her own career advancement?
I think you should advise half of the people to move on to other jobs and the other half to fight the violations. Fair?

Yes, you are. The decision status happens when your wlecome notice gets mailed out. You will get that either today and within next couple of days. Mine also got changed like that, but only after 6 days.
Interesting part is even after I got my GREEN CARD to my hand, it is still saying the status as DECISION.
On Aug 17th the message changed to "On Aug 16th Card Production Ordered...."
